These pioneers started out fresh on a Thursday morning. One of them was excited, and one of them a little hesitant.
Jessamyne was very excited to see her family after the 3 day trek. Tan and dusty. So proud of them.
Big smiles and lots of dust on these girls. Nothing like 3 days in the wilderness to make them appreciate home.
I got a little emotional watching them come over the hill. This trek only happens every 4 years for our youth – we were commemorating the Mormon pioneers’ journey to Utah. They had few supplies, were in the same clothes they were wearing when they left, and pushed handcarts for 2 1/2 days. So grateful for our pioneers who trekked across the plains and mountains. The girls got to experience a little of this and we all feel a lot of gratitude. The truth is, our lives are pretty easy. And we were feeling this a lot this day.
