We have been working on our adoption through Spence-Chapin since March 1st. Our Dossier has been in South Africa since August 5th. Last week we received a phone call, followed by a file of the boy who is to join our family.
Sinazo is 7 and we will travel to get him in 2-3 months, after final immigration paperwork is approved. Poor kid, does he know what he is in for? I am already grieving the loss of 7 years of his life. Will he love us? Will he feel comfortable here? Amidst all of that worry, and trying to figure out how 6 of us will afford to be in South Africa for 6 weeks, we received another photo yesterday.
I’m in love. Everything will be ok, although I am sure it won’t be easy. Nora can’t wait to be an older sister and show him the ropes. Caleb is overjoyed at having a brother and we are already working on their room. He even went to the fabric store (which is unheard of), to help pick out something for a blanket to send to him. The girls show his photo to everyone. Mike is giddy, and if you know him, that doesn’t happen too often especially when it’s not related to technology.
Nazo, we can’t wait to meet you!
