I finally did it. In fact, I fit it in before I left for California. I painted the Living Room to match the Dining Room. I am in love with this color. It is so subtle, and with the dark accents I have in the Dining Room, this unassuming color is surprisingly rich. Remember: Winds Breath by Benjamin Moore.
The ceiling and walls were painted in Winds Breath. The trim is Mascarpone. Both by Benjamin Moore.
1. Prime the glossy wainscoting. 2. Paint the ceiling. 3. Paint and cut in the walls. 4. Paint the trim. 5. Paint the trim. 6. Paint and cut in the walls. Whew!
Obviously the above photos were in the middle of the process. Did you know that you can refrigerate paint if you are interrupted during your long and tedious painting session (as I was)?
I may not have had anything yummy in my fridge, but my paint was perfectly preserved. Just place some plastic wrap over the container and refrigerate. I even did it overnight. I usually wash out my brush, but you can do the same thing with your roller for short periods of time. With all those steps, it was not shocking that this was not a one-day project. By the way, this pail is my new favorite when painting.
Check out the Handy Paint Pail.
I’m excited to post pictures of the finished Living Room. It will be awhile. The next project is a slipcover for my sofa. Here are my top choices:
Next, the windows . . . maybe:
I love it. I will have to check that color out! It might end up in my bedroom!
