I love My Madsen Cycle, although you wouldn’t be able to tell that for how much it has been ridden this Summer. When I went out to the garage today to search for some things in the last of the unpacked boxes, I looked at my bike and sat on it just for a few moments. Today it is raining and it is not a good day to load the kids up and go for a ride, but the next time the sun comes out, you’ll find me on the road.

I’m so lucky to have my own training support group while I’m trying so diligently to follow my schedule. It hasn’t been easy, but Mike is HUGE in this endeavor – I don’t think he’d let me quit.
Today was particularly hard because I had to split my long run. This is my biggest run before the Chelan Marathon. We had somewhere important to be at 10am this morning, which didn’t leave much daylight to run 22 miles before that time. So, I ran 16 miles before, came home and showered and dressed up. Then two hours later came home, put on a new set of running clothes and ran 6 more miles in order to meet my training goal.
When I started getting ready for the second run, Mike knew I needed moral support and so he got out our Precious Cargo Bike, put the kids on their bikes and followed me on my run. It made all the difference.
Jessamyne was the photographer today, thus the interesting shots. By the way, it was raining – It wasn’t all sweat.
I love this bike. We have not used the car anywhere in town, yet, this summer. We ride to the library, the beach, and the park. I love that we can just take off without any hassle. Throw the kids and gear into the back, and we’re gone. I love that.

No, it’s not what you think . . . .but our family does have a new arrival. And, ALL six of us are excited about it. My Madsen Cycle is here!
The freight company delivered it mid-day today. The customer service I received, just getting the bike here was phenomenal. The freight company sent me emails at least twice a day letting me know exactly where it was. Then, the local freight company called me and made an appointment to deliver it. It came fully assembled in a big box and looked something like this:
I took a maiden voyage and picked 2 of our kids up from school. I did get quite a few double-takes on the way, and my kids were pretty excited to just hop in the back – yes, it was that easy – the kickstand is amazing and the bike was totally stable while they climbed in.
The big bonus . . . .my kids have a great fort that came with the bike. Who needs a new toy when you have a box?
It was a gorgeous night – we couldn’t resist the bike path.
